Explore how shapes, colours and surface details can be simplified while maintaining a clear and recognisable material identity.

PROBLEMS
The main challenge was finding the right balance between variation and art direction.
Too much procedural noise made some of the first materials feel generic and difficult to read.

More details did not always mean a better material! ; )

LESSONS LEARNED
Start from large, readable shapes.
Use randomness within controlled limits.
Let color and surface variation follow the main structure.
Stylization is based on intentional choices, not simply on removing detail.
